Free Tulsa Landfill Days - October 20 & 21, 2007

If you live in the city limits of Tulsa and have some unwanted items that need disposing; take it to the Quarry Landfill on 46th Street North (approximately 1-1/2 miles east of U.S. 169.

The address is 13740 E. 46th St. North

Hours will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

The landfill closes promplty at 3 p.m.

** Look for Quarry Waste Mangement Inc. signs **

All participants must show a driver's license with and address within the city of Tulsa or a City of Tulsa utility bill.

  • Items containing Freon refigerant (air conditioners and refigerators) will not be accepted. 
  • There is a $2 fee for each discarded tire (it covers state fees for disposal and recycling of tires).

TULSANOW TO HOST A PUBLIC FORUM ABOUT RIVER TAX - Sept. 18th

If you are wondering which way to vote on the October 9th river tax proposition then this forum is for you!

Here are the details from TulsaNow: 

Speakers from both sides will be on hand to present their views and answer questions from the audience. Ken Busby, Executive Director of the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa will be the moderator.

Don’t miss this unique chance to hear speakers from BOTH sides of the debate. Jean Letcher, “River Yes” campaign director, and Gaylon Pinc, Environmental Manager for PMg will speak in support of the river proposal. City Councilor, John Eagleton and Colin Tawney will speak in opposition to the plan.

Conceptual drawings of the plan will be on display for public viewing before and after the program.

University of Tulsa tickets

University of Tulsa season football tickets are on sale now.

  • Individual game tickets will be available online beginning Saturday, September 1st at 8:30 am.
  • Tickets will go on sale in person or by phone on Tuesday, September, 4th at 8:30 am.

    I have heard that the TU vs. OU home game will be selling for $70-75.  So, buying a season ticket is a great deal.

    Season ticket prices are:
    Gold Seating (between 15-yard lines) - $165
    Blue Seating (between goal line and 15-yard line) - $130
    End Zone Seating - $110
    Family Fun Zone (2 adults, 2 kids in the south end zone) - $380

PGA Championship at Southern Hills in Tulsa
The PGA Championship will be in Tulsa August 6-12, 2007 and will be hosted by Southern Hills Country Club.  If you are interested in attending you can still purchase your tickets online at PGA.com.

Renaissance and Turner Park Neighborhood meeting June 21st

The Renaissance and Turner Park Neighborhood Association meeting is set for June 21st at 7:00 pm in the Kendall-Whittier Library.  The community meeting room is accessible from the east door of the parking lot.  The TU agenda will include the projects:  Performing Arts Center, renovation of the football stadium to be named H.A. Chapman Stadium, two engineering buildings, the 11th Street entrance and more.

The secret is officially out!  Money Magazine has confirmed what we here in Tulsa have suspected for awhile, that Tulsa's housing market is alive and well.  In Money Magazine they list Tulsa as #2 in the nation for projected sales growth for April 2007-April 2008 as reported by Fiserv Lending Solutions.  Read more about Tulsa in Money Magazine
